Best of 2012 in photos

From April onwards I began to make a point of capturing my favourite moments in a photograph, and though I've often been too busy or forgotten my camera, I'm so glad I took the time to appreciate what I saw around me. I'm not a photographer (though with more time and a good camera I'd like to get better in  future), but taking pictures taught me to find beauty everywhere. In nature I saw God's glory- in the perfection of a single flower or in the colours of a sunset; and in man-made structures, like buildings and streets, I saw His creativity gifted to us.

These are roughly in chronological order. Apologies for them all being different sizes, that's just what happens when you crop photos.

Hoping for more photo opportunities this year!
Enjoy.

Photo Friday 20/07/2012 (AKA 15th July BEST DAY EVER)

I actually wrote this yesterday off sick from work (again! must be the air-con or something), and despite not feeling too bright it was actually nice to have a day to do nothing for once. Looking back at these photos of my fun day out last weekend definitely cheered me up a little!

This Photo Friday comes with a bit of a back-story. Ye have been warned.

Photo Friday (15/06/12)

Was definitely planning to update on Wed or Thurs this week but I've ended up being busier than I expected, so will have to wait. Thought I should also mention that I will be starting work full time next week, so I may not be able to blog as often as I have done; we shall see.

This week's photos are from Nene Park and Rutland Water, enjoy!

Photo Friday (08/06/12)

This week has been nothing less than atrocious weather-wise, which has been unfortunate, and consequently I didn't have the chance to take many pictures outdoors- instead of cancelling the post though I got creative and took some indoor photos instead. There are also a few I managed to take one evening when the sun came out momentarily. Hope you enjoy.

Photo Friday (01/06/12)

This week has been so surreal, packed with crazy revision, sitting exams, shopping, coffee, goodbyes and packing. I can't believe I've actually finished my first year, especially when I look back and think of the times I was at the point of giving up. I'm so thankful that I stayed, but I'm thankful this chapter is closing now, and tomorrow morning I can  move out of this house that has been the main cause of my misery.

Due to the aforementioned busy week, photo taking has not been a priority (plus I've showed you Canterbury's best bits now!) Instead, I thought I would show some photos of my holiday in Madeira last summer. You might call it cheating, I call it variety :P

Madeira is so ridiculously beautiful that even the most cleverly edited photography cannot do justice to it- if you ever happen to go there, I hope you find it as lovely as I do (though as my dad is a native Madeiran I am probably biased).

Enjoy the pictures!

Photo Friday (25/05/12)

Hope you've all had a lovely week- if you're from the UK you've probably been enjoying the amazing weather!

Loads more Canterbury pictures this week, enjoy :)

Photo Friday (18/05/12)

Hey everyone,
So I hope you've all had good weeks despite the pressure of revision/exams, or simply the pressure of everyday life. As you know I am back at uni now, trying (and kind of failing) to get lots of revision done. Alas, social life has gotten in the way somewhat  ;) In all seriousness though, it has been lovely to catch up with everyone after about 6 weeks. The last couple of days I've been wandering Canterbury's pretty streets, so if you're not living here and want a glimpse of my uni town, this is it. The weather was a bit pants so photos could have been better, but never mind.

Photo Friday! (11/05/12)

Hope you have all had a good week- if not, here's hoping the next one will be better!

Last Sunday my family and I finally made a trip to one of our favourite spots, Burghley House. The house itself is one of Britain's great Heritage sites, completed in 1587, and was featured in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice movie as the fictional Rosings Park- its definitely an amazing building and worth a look if you're ever in Lincolnshire! Anyway, having seen the house before we were there for the gardens and the cafe, and so most of the following photos are from the beautiful grounds. Enjoy :)

It's Photo Friday!

Hey everyone, it's that time of the week again! On Monday the sun came out (hooray!), so I went for a walk down the country lane, and went a bit picture crazy. Lots of lambs and flowers this week, hope you enjoy them.

It's Photo Friday! - My week in pictures

Easter break means two things- one, lots of revision, and two, lots of free time. The latter has given me the opportunity to pick up my hobbies again including photography, which I've really missed. So here are some of my favourite photos this week, capturing the best of springtime before it fades away. Enjoy!

 More pics after the jump!
